Default google search by countries - 11-09-2006 , 02:27 AM

If we have a .com address and we live in say Australia and also have
the matching .com.au domain.
So will people in Australia when they do a google seach limiting it to
Australian sites, will our site come up (either as .com or .com.au)?

If now I want to open office in the UK and get a .co.uk site how do it
get our site to come up when some one in the UK does a seach limiting
it to UK sites?

Thanks

Don't know in your case, but Google really pays attention to country of origin.
When I Google through a Mexican proxy server, I get a Spanish Google page.

Nothing!

You simply add what ever sites and URLs to the various Google editions
that you want your sites listed in.
http://www.google.com.au/addurl/?continue=/addurl
http://www.google.co.uk/addurl/?continue=/addurl

Having two different sites in Australia will add confusion to your
users and dilute the SERPS. I would simply 301 re-direct one of the
domains.
