Default Google raise the question of affiliate sites - 06-01-2006 , 07:11 AM

This has been added to the guidelines;
"
Avoid "doorway" pages created just for search engines, or other
"cookie cutter" approaches such as affiliate programs with little or
no original content.
If your site participates in an affiliate program, make sure that your
site adds value. Provide unique and relevant content that gives users
a reason to visit your site first.
"
Hmmmm.

Bill how often do you read the guidelines?
http://web.archive.org/web/200502210...uidelines.html
has always stated for a long time as much as I can remember.:
" Avoid "doorway" pages created just for search engines, or other"cookie

content. "

Would have replied sooner but the archive has been down. I wanted to show
proof that it has stated. They don't say no affiliates just put some more
content and not their cookie cutter stuff like running a script and having
something like everyone else.

Not often. I don't think completely ever, actually.

Thin affiliate, fat affiliate still stands then. If you'd told me that
stuff was put on there yesterday I wouldn't have known any different,
after years of seeing what they do I have little belief in what Google
say.
