"Roy Schestowitz" wrote... Rough predictions here: http://www.rustybrick.com/pagerank-prediction.php Not so much rough predictions, as wild guesses. The developer was called out a couple of years ago for taking the p*** out of 'newbies', and - for a while - he had a note saying it was 'just for fun'. http://www.ihelpyou.com/forums/showt...threadid=14182 When the fuss died down, he removed that note. It's crap. |

I've always preferred to stay away from 'toolbars' becasue they often turn out to be malware of some kind. |
|
Instead I found a nice little (285kb zipfile) stand alone utility: |

Roy Schestowitz wrote: Rough predictions here: http://www.rustybrick.com/pagerank-prediction.php Do you really think this "tool" has a minimum of credibility? |

I checked a few pages, it always tells you "your current rank is X (correct), and you'll be 2.odd % better next time". I think it's a prank. |

Instead I found a nice little (285kb zipfile) stand alone utility: Perl script, few lines ;-) (Ok, you need to install Perl :-D ) |

But I'm still against Google (or almost anybody else's) "toolbars". I have a couple extensions for Firefox (prefbar and developer bar). Other than that, I stay well clear of them. |

Give it a url, hit 'Reveal' and it queries Google and returns a pagerank. Not very handy for checking a lot of urls, but it's handy enough for a lot of my use. ....for now anyway. |

Yeah, that's the advantage of Perl, you can extend a script, because you have the source :-) |

But this tool uses the windows interface? |
