Google Indexing question

My main page has been indexed for a 2-3 weeks now at Google. But why has the
rest of my site not been indexed at all ? I thought once a page was crawled
that it followed all the links on that page ...

Can someone tell me in reality the way it actually works ? Or is it just one
of those when google feels like it things ?

Nope. Whether Googlebot will descend into your site depends in part on
your main page's page rank. If you have a low page rank, it might not
think the rest of your site is very important, at least not important
enough to crawl immediately. Maybe it will down the line, in weeks or
months.

I agree, it is quite normal to wait weeks or months and even then there is
no guarantee that all pages will be indexed. Eric.
