protection, as if the Trojan was in Norton maybe!!!!!

Nah, you get that stuff all the time, one antivirus program will
report another antivirus program as being a virus. It's because it
interprets what it sees rather than fully understands it, certain
stuff will set off a red flag.

it felt like that! I did a whole load of stuff recommended in building
up to running Hijackthis. Had to get a fix from norton to get the
phishing blocker working again. The problem must have been in thier
somewhere. Its still OK touch wood after a boot, anyway :-)
