Default google dropped site totally off rankings - 09-08-2004 , 08:36 PM

My site www.rjcornish.com has been up for several years and has consistently
been in the top 10 in Google with a search such as 'fruit picking australia'
or similar phrases. We have now been totally dropped from Google, but still
rank well in other search engines (yahoo etc).

I would appreciate it if subscribers to this newsgroup can look at my site
and offer constructive comments and advise.

You're not dropped. You're 5 of 63 for that exact phrase. Your site is
very badly coded though. Get rid of all that FrontPage theme and
webbot rubbish and put the fonts etc. into CSS.

Theres been rumor Google Reached some kind of Limit to the URL's their
Algorythm can manage. See an earlier Post in this Group about it.

My Site is less than a yr old, but Ranked real well in that time till about
3 weeks ago, when it pretty much vanished sort of like you say. I hadnt
changed my code either....but Recently I am noticing my site gradually being
integrated back into the searches. I have found most the Pages that are
missing are the ones that got the Most hits From Google last month. Probably
just a reshuffling.

My site may be 5 0f 63 if I type in quotation marks fruit picking australia,
however if I type in fruit picking australia without quotation marks there
are about 42,700 responses.

How does the coding of my site relate to search engine placement? I have
used front page themes as this is about the current limit of my web design
skills.

You'll be getting pages back that contain, anywhere, the words fruit,
Australia, and picking.

Proper coding, to which FrontPage is pretty much the Anti-Christ, will
give you smaller and easer to navigate sites that download faster.
Engines will like them.
