Changes on http://216.239.57.104
My site that was added to Dmoz a long time ago
is now finally showing a google directory tag
on this data center.
I am not seeing any updates in the directory yet.
The Directory tag in the search results for some sites in DMOZ and not
yet in the Google Directory started being added >2-3 weeks ago ...
click on it and the site is not in the category. This could mean an
update from DMOZ is due soon, but I am not seeing it yet.

Upon closer inspection, I did notice this. I am showing a google
directory tag on this data center, but when I click the tag my
site is not actually shown in the directory listing. Interesting.
What is also very interesting is this: when I run through the many
variations of keywords that I sometimes plug into the search bar to
see how this one site is doing, I get...don't know how to describe it.
It's like a "meta description". On the search phrases I used, Google
showed mainly the home page----but it also showed a snippet of text
from OTHER pages that most closely matched the search parameter I
input.
If this is something google has been doing all along, I have been
oblivious
to it. But since it has been happening on this site on this particular
data
center, it was much easier for me to notice.
I can definitely say this technique can make a site "appear much more
relevant to a user" regarding what they're searching on.
Now, if only adsense would stop acting weird. Adsense stats are still
very very slow. I am finally getting results from 3/5/04, but even
today the results are fluctuating for 3/5/04. Typically, once the
stats
were compiled for a day, that was it, it was done. They didn't change.
Seems adsense is still working on finished stats from days ago, which
is why the numbers keep changing for past days.
Makes me wonder if certain sites are the "unfortunate beneficiary" of
Google working on their new stats tools, which they are alledged to be
rolling out soon. I say this because, while many people are
complaining
about this phenomeon, not everyone is.
