Wikipedia to start new search engine and compete with google!

Wikipedia is about to launch a brand new search engine January 7th to
compete with Google:

There's not much to see at the moment but that will be their url
address. I hope it goes over because I've had it with Google and Yahoo
they both suck and are friends to spammers.

Ah, I see you answered my last question. Your site doesn't rank well
with either yahoo or google.

How long will it take before you start to slag off wiki ?
Will it be when your site no longer ranks in it ?

Twaddle - we get spammers in here every day complaining that Google won't
list them.
"Google sucks" is a standard spammer refrain.
Occasionally also used by people with bad sites who don't have the guts to
admit their own limitations.

If you take the trouble to learn about SEs and how they work, they're the
best friends you'll ever have on the web - and no nasty diseases, either!

Try to game them, and - Surprise! - they'll crush you like a bug.

I want to add that while Google is gamed a lot by spammers (which is
expected, because it's to many the #1 SE), they *do* take action if
reported. One way or another people rather complain /here/ about the spam,
instead of reporting it. I doubt anyone at Google has the time to
investigate spam reports posted all over Usenet/Internet. They do have the
time to look into you reporting spam, and will do so is my experience
(although at times one has to be a bit persuasive).
