If you have a link to your site from a site that is listed in Google,
Yahoo, and Masn (for example) then those search engine spiders will
follow that link to find your site. So I would say you could get a
general idea based on what search engines the sites, sharing a link
your way, are listed in then what other places those search engines
help supply results for (Ex. currently Google supplies AOL their
results - Yahoo owns/supplies results for Inktomi, AllTheWeb, and
etc.).
