Default Duplicate pages? - 09-07-2006 , 12:37 PM

Do the following links count as 2 separate URLs and therefore
duplicates, even though they would link to the same page?

www.companyXYZ.com

www.companyXYZ.com/?source=www.companyABC.com

If I search for site:www.premiercarsystems.co.uk I get 3 different
entries for my Index.htm page.

Thanks,

Weeble

Please use example.com for examples.

Solution: redirect the /?source=etc. version with a 301 to the / one. You
*still* can track, but you don't end up with additional URLs.

It shouldn't since the search engines should recognise it's the same
page and only list one, but you can find results like the above
(search engines aren't perfect), so as John says use a 301.

I can't, that's why I asked this question myself. Try putting this in
a new thread the guys in this group are really good at proper advice.

Thanks for the 301 suggestion.
