No.

They are useful with certain scientific publications that end up in
databases that are indexed by Dublin Core info, but those databases
will add the tags if you don't.

What is it that makes you ask? The general answer would be no but I
wonder why you ask.

Metamend.com mentions them as a way to increase your rankings in the
engines.

And you didn't find it odd that the site, recommending Dublin Core
META tags as a way to increase one's rankings, didn't use those
particular METAs on their own site?

A quote from one of their articles:
"Put the correct Meta Tags in the source code of your pages or hire us
to do it for you, otherwise your website is practically invisible to a
search engine. You must have meta tags!"

The article quote is from 2001 time frame yet the above was not wholly
true even then. Invisible? Hm, scads of "practically invisible" sites
on Yahoo and Google then - and in the Top 10 even.

I use META, and stated on here in the past that I do WHILE not feeling
that META tags help all that much. They may help a little and "at
times" - but I doubt it would have your site jumping 20 spaces upwards
in placement due to using META tags, Dublin Core or not, in your
pages.

I didn't think so but I couldn't find any real good reasons to do it or not
to do it.

Thanks for your help.
