Default Does anybody knows any such site? - 11-23-2006 , 08:25 AM

Im looking for a wbesite that allows us to open another website within
it. My office proxy blocks 3rd party web-based email systems (eg.
hotmail, yahoo, etc) to be accessed on the internet. So Im looking for
some websites that allows us to type a webaddress within it and it will
open it up and show it within it, so the proxy server wont catch
hotmail/yahoo being directly opened.

Does anyone know any such site or any way to achieve this goal?

You mean like in an iframe? You could build your own webpage with an
iframe in it, but I don't think it would have any effect. Besides,
don't you think your boss has a *reason* he lets the office proxy
block these things? How about just doing as you're told, and fill your
boss's time with actual work? ;-)

IFRAME will be doing the same thing but in a separate frame. I heard
about a site that will load the website we till it to load and then
send its data to us.. like a middleman.

And its not that we're fooling around. What is the most we can do on
emails? We are not provided any sort of emailing functionality. When
our customers want to contact us, we have to give our manager's email
to them. The thing is... managers NEVER do late-sittings. They always
get off at 5pm. Whereas we sometimes have to sit till 11pm. We need
some sort of communication system to interact directly with the
clients, you know what I mean :-)

Google screen-scraping?

So your manager doesn't trust you. Looks like he's right :-)

No, I don't. Never had a manager who didn't trust me :-)
If you have a problem with how your managers manage, take it up with
them. Or get a different job, or make your manager trust you. He
obviously has a reason to not open up the proxy after 5pm.

Spam
Send other porn, jokes etc.
and other non work related emails.

And possibly with good reason. Have you asked your boss why ?

That's not your problem. You are an employee. It is down to your
employer as to why this is. If they lose customers, then it is down to
them.

Why not suggest it to management. You may get a bonus.

You are communicating with the wrong people. You are asking us, when
you should be going to your boss. If that fails, go higher if you feel
that strongly about it.

woah! you guys are taking it in the wrong direction. I didnt explain
that right actually. I work in Ernst & Young audit firm. We're all
trainees here. Only managers are the employees. We're not allowed to
use the internet facility because it is the E&Y 's policy to use only
their provided email server, not any other 3rd party emails. That is
why they have blocked it.

Blocking is in no way due to spamming, or any other misuse. Now email
services are provided to managers, who are the employees. But in audit
firms, all the field work and client dealings are performed by the
trainees so we have direct contact with them on cell phones and emails
too, for work purposes of course! :-)

Trainees that have email contact with clients normally check their
emails when they get back home. But sometimes we require some info from
the client urgently that we cant wait to go back home to check mails.
Fax is used but of course financial statements cant be sent through
them. Emails can be sent directly to managers, but sometimes a manager
doesnt check his mails and leaves for home.

So that is why sometimes we need to check our emails directly in
office. No other reason for trying to do what I said earlier. And my
manager trusts me a LOT too! :-) And im proud of that!

Anyways, thanks for your info guys. I guess it cannot be done. Looks
like I'll have to use my cell phone's GPRS to check my mails and send
them thru bluetooth to the computer to access the files .. argh!! so
much pain...! :-)
