First, a sub directory, and a sub sub directory is just a thing on your
webserver. Calling bar in http://example.com/foo/bar a subdirectory of foo
might be correct, or might be completly wrong.

To answer your question: yes, there is nothing wrong with what you call a
subsubdirectory.

On the other hand, some people agree on a maximum lenght for an URL, e.g. a
subsubsubsub..................subsubsub......subsu bdirectory might be a bad
idea.

How may levels are usually accepted?
3 (directory, subdirectory, subsubdirectory)?
Or more?
How long may an URL be for a search engine?

I see no problems with more (I use 4 "directories" for example).

I have no idea (for *a* SE). How long do you need it to be?

To add here, you really don't need a super long URL. I mean why do it? You
can use keywords and still keep a reasonably sized URL. If it looks spammy
and it would be hard to remember even for you...then it is probably to long
and looks unprofessional.

4 directories?
Is not "www" a directory and for example on my website "sv", "en", "it",
"de" some of the subdirectories or what do you mean by "directories" here?

It's probably better to drop the whole directory idea. Just think of
each / as a path separator, e.g.

http://example.com/foo/bar/1/2/3/
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

The part in front of the first single / is the domain, the part after it
the path. You want to know what the maximum number of path-fragments
are.

I have no problems with 4, e.g.

http://johnbokma.com/mexit/2005/05/11/

^1 ^2 ^3 ^4

works for me.

URL is not a problem.

I can imagine that https sites are indexed slower, though.
