Default Do PDF files rank higher then web pages with PR? - 10-23-2006 , 07:56 AM

Hi Everyone,

When entering "site:www.communisis.com" query in Google.co.uk
It returns list of PDF files from my website
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en...Sear ch&meta=

Web pages of 1st & 2nd levels are not shown at all despite of having
good PR.

Why Google ranks PDFs higher then web pages with PR?

Thanks for your comments.
Polly

Are there any links from the HTML version to the PDF version? I have not
checked the site (domain name put me off a little). I ask this because I
happen to link to the PDF from each of the pertinent HTML pages that
correspond to the full paper and this seems to have this effect, which is
possibly a positive thing.

Roy, PDFs on my site are not PDF versions of HTML pages. They are
annual reports, and company news. They are all linked from News page. A
couple of latest news a linked straight from home page.

Hi Polly,

Google ranks them higher because they contain more original content then
your website does.

I think that Tonnie's suggestion** makes perfect sense, assuming his analysis
is correct.

Hi Polly,

Google ranks them higher because they contain more original content then
your website does.

Would you recommend presenting news as HTML pages with downloadable PDF
articles on them?
