Default Dmoz pages are loosinng PR - 11-03-2003 , 10:37 PM

Hi,

In last two months I have noticed that PR of page in Dmoz that I have link
from is down from 6 to 5.
No good :-(
That was my only PR 6 back link that I had. My Index page is down from 5 to
4 and other pages down from 4 to 3!
Does anybody link to specific page on Dmoz?
My first idea was to link to that page from all of my pages, but will that
help?
And I really miss that green in the middle...

Start looking for some more PR5 and PR6 links from webmasters.

Not cheap for links. However, with some effort you should be able
to find webmasters on related topics who would be willing to exchange
links. Also consider the possibility of begging for links from family
and friends with personal sites. The way Google works today, getting
links from low PR sites with just the right keyword laden anchor text is
more effective than one high PR link. PR has never been worth less than
it is today.

I noticed that several of my top-level domains that were contained in
DMOZ dropped PR by 1. Not bad really since some of them didn't see much
updates by me. However the pages I update regularly didn't drop, and my
blog's PR increased. Not that it matters too much really... I just try
building content I would like to read if I wouldn't be the author
(something like that).

PR is rounded. You'll never know, whether it went down 1.0 or only 0.1

The number of pages in the web is constantly growing. Every new page
dilutes the pagerank of the existing.

No, it will reduce your PR even more.

PR is not everything. I bet, that there's still sth to optimize on
your site.
