Default DMOZ to GOOGLE directory? How long? - 10-05-2003 , 03:42 AM

Finally got DMOZ to include a site.
About how long does it take for Google
to update with current DMOZ data?

Google have not updated for >6months. There is no pattern to the
updates, so no one knows when it is likely to happen.

The answer is weeks to months. That Google hasn't update the
directory in a while may be a good sign for you, in that it seems
overdue.

I know it's small consolation, but I hope you'll find your site is now
listed at every place described as getting "live" updates in
<http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Searching/Directories/Open_Directory_Project/Sites_Using_ODP_Data/>
As for the rest, I guess that's up to each site.

Craig,
Where do you find out the last time that Google updated from DMOZ?

A quick search turned up lots of discussions of how often updates
generally occur, but no direct way to determine when they DID occur.
Here's a representative sample:

You can't - I notice in the category that i edit at DMOZ and when that
changes at Google - changes I made a DMOZ >6 months ago were not in
Google.

HOWEVER - Google have just updated the directory in the last few days
(a couple of data centers do not yet have it), but its happening. It
appears that the new Google directory reflect changes made at DMOZ
from around 27-28 Oct (my guess)
