Hi,

Got an email from a DMOZ editor informing me one of my sites got a
DMOZ Cool Sites Award.

The entry-
http://dmoz.org/Arts/Literature/Worl...y/Twain,_Mark/

My sites the first one with the yellow star-
http://mark-twain.classic-literature.co.uk/

My first cool site award :-))

Not bad on the speed of inclusion either, I submitted it less than a

Congrats! I didn't know DMOZ handed out an award - at least none of
the sites in any categories I look at ever have a site with a yellow
star like yours does.

If handed out at time of submission then I am 3 years too late for one
for any of my sites. *sniffle* *chuckle*

Mark Twain tops the list, on my side, of favorite authors. It was this
story, listed on your site, that first hooked me onto his writings:
http://mark-twain.classic-literature.co.uk/a-dogs-tale/

I would blame him for inspiring some of my humor - but I cannot; way
too corny of humor at times over here so I blame the cornfields that
used to line the backyard of my childhood home instead.

Curiousity killing the cat: James Whitcomb Riley's poetry next on your
to-do list?

Carol

That is cool!!! I didn't know that star meant cool site award. I thought it
was editor's pick or something. Wow, that is real neat Dave!

I didn't know they had a cool site award either, now I've checked a
few dozen cats you do see the odd yellow star.

BTW Good call on adding Mark Twain, thanks Stacey :-))

Any other author suggestions?

I was pleasantly surprised at the speed, I submitted it a couple of
days before finishing the site since it tends to take months for a
review. So I listed it as complete works before it was since I knew it
would be complete works by the time you'd expect a review. If it had
been reviewed a few days earlier it wasn't quite complete (won't do
that again :-)).

Checked the editors profile and he/she has won several DMOZ awards, so
there are some editors on the ball.

Short of asking DMOZ, do you know if there's a way of seeing if a
submission has been considered but refused?

Hi Andy,
You need to wait. Ask after a month or so. I know it is real frustrating
waiting with new sites. Just get busy getting links from other sources(well
indexed sites) and see how it looks in a month or so. There are a few sites
out there that would exchange links with you. Check artist supplies, etc.
