Was a very odd DNS problem. The TimeWarner (Bright House)
DNS servers stopped serving and only allowed access to the
TimeWarner (BrightHouse) newsgroup servers. Their servers went
down for about an hour.

Thanks, Bill.

It seems google is doing some newsgroup relay removal? For instance...
doing a search on the following query:

+"The LoadUserProfile call failed with the following error:" +"Access is denied."

results in only two hits. But then going to http://groups.google.com
to do the search, 13 hits turn up.
