Date at the last records of items in Google reports

Hi,

I sometimes see date at the last records of items in Google reports. Does
anyone knows what it means?
Here is an example:

allows changing digitized voice in a number of different ways: ...
www.XXXXX.com/xxxxxx.html - 9k - 7 Sep 2003 - îèîåï - ãôéí ãåîéí

Sometimes it refers to when the page was cached, but more often it seems to
be when the Googlebot last read the page. So if the Googlebot comes to the
page every day the date gets updated almost daily but the cached version of
the page stays the same for several weeks.

From both replys I still don't understand something. I own a site myself and
I see that the date of my homepage gets updated every day but I don't change
the page for days. Can you farther advise?

I guess Googlebot is reading your page daily even though you don't update it
daily.
Have a look in the raw log files.

It mean the last time googlebot visited and updated the site
