I don't use <span> for image placement in my sites but I do use <span>
.... and my sites PR haven't been dropped to 0.

Could always test it though and remove the <span> around the images
and use <div> or something else for the placement thoughts and see if
that has PR showing up [again?].

Some sites, created in the past couple of months, have not seen any PR
assigned to them as Google hasn't updated PR for around 70+ days. They
still do ok in the results and have IBLs [so should have some PR
coming their way] - just, on the toolbar, see themselves still at PR0.

How old are the sites you are thinking <span> be may be a factor on?

Carol

Google has assigned PR0 tags to loads of sites. I doubt they know why
themselves.

I have a dating website, www.bothsingle.co.uk, that also mysteriously went
to PR0 at the same time as a few other folks said theirs did last week. But
today it's gone back to its normal PR3 - which is still a bit rubbish, but
better than 0 at least.
