Default OT (ish): Foreign bank acc. for Foreign business - 11-11-2003 , 08:32 AM

If I set up a site that is targetting foreign customers and I need to take
money from them, what's the best way?

1. Set up a Worldpay account so I can accept credit card payments
2. Accept credit card payments via Paypal (yuck)
3. Set up a foreign bank account so people can pay by cheque (a bit messy
and would have to figure out where they send cheques to - can't expect them
to send cheques abroad.)

Any ideas?

If you are serious then set up a proper merchants account. That way you can
accept debit and credit cards, refund cards for the full amount or part of
it, and have safety measures like address lookup.

Worldpay is probably easiest for multicurrency, especially if you have a
home based business with little or no track record (i don't know if this is
the case or not!). What you are selling will influence % rate and deferment
period. Have a look at something I put together here:

(Or google for 'trading online help' - we're top 8-p)

Good luck,

You get the above with Worldpay? Though their address lookup for
foreign credit cards is crap!!
