Default Cloaking - 06-07-2006 , 03:35 PM

Can't find the cloaking thread back, but my gf was looking for a recipe,
and she found this one:

<http://www.google.com.mx/search?hl=es&q=pechuga+almendrado>

Look for pechuga-de-pollo-rellena. dietas . nom. es/ (Receta de dieta...)

Visit the page with JavaScript on

Now visit the page with JavaScript off

Isn't that spammy? Yes it is, and I reported it :-D.

<http://www.google.com/contact/spamreport.html>

<http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Adietas.nom.es> gives close to a
1,000 results, and I am sure all use this JavaScript trick.

Definitly cloacking, a look at the cache already tells a whole different
story then what a 'normal' visitor would see.

I have seen sites gone from Google several weeks after I reported them.

Google first tries to see if they can automatically drop them from the
index (or so I understand), and if that is not possible they might
manually ban them.

Looks like in some cases G tries to contact owners. I have reported
AdSense policy violation ("visit our sponsors") and two or three weeks
later text was removed from the site. It could be accidental.

Best,

And speaking of which, why report just to Google? Are you trying to help them
extend their monopoly? Frankly, I think this should be somehow administered
centrally... for the benefit of all... so I have that frameset set up...

Can a monopoly be extended?

Can a monopoly be extended?
*smile*

Well, it can start a monopoly in another domain. Think, for example, about a
company selling routers, which decides to bundle servers in a way that
assists penetration into another niche. In the case of Google, for example,
you could help them have some plagiarism detector utility (yes, I know most
of them are based on Google already). Bad example, but still... if the
public contributes information to just one player... and that information
might be of high value, collectively... you know...? Like Spamcop.net.

Best wishes,

Roy

Maybe it's a good idea to report those sites here as well, so we can
report them as well. Maybe 10 people reporting makes a difference :-D.
