What is the groups opinion on the class c ip address theory and Google? Linking within the same class-c IP can be an indication of common ownership and as such links may not be counted. If this is true then that is surely bad news for small web designers and hosting resellers etc who buy domains from the same company and all domains share the same ip address. Also you have no idea who else shares that class c address with you!! For example - Webfusion have the ip range 212.67.202.0 - 212.67.202.255, on this range they host 115581 sites, so, if I am correct, 115581/255=453.258824, that's about 450 sites per class c address! I'm personally not seeing a problem here but if there is any basis in the theory then it could effect a lot of people. DDJEM |
