Default Can't Get Searched - 05-08-2006 , 08:10 PM

Could any of you help me? Our website has been up and running for over
3 months now. But we can't get searched. We have done everything that
Google has told us, but nothing. This is killing our business, because
people remember our name, but a lot of the time they can't remember the
exact website and someone else who uses our name is #1 all the time. We
have gone through every page and nothing. We have links and key words
and nothing. Do any of you know how often (when) the web is crawled?

Thanking you in advance

As far as I know, google performes a "deep crawl" in intervals of about
three weeks. But I am having the same problems as yours, tried
everyting; submission, reinclusion, sitemaps with no luck. I am forced
to think that Google itself having some problems. Yahoo and MSN were
really quick in indexing my site. My site has been up for five weeks by
the way. I do have a fair amount of PR4-5 links pointing to me. I just
decided to wait. But it is depressing to hear that you are still not
indexed in three months.

Can we see the url please? You could have code errors or robots.txt
errors which make it impossible for the site to be crawled. We can't
tell unless we have a look though.

They might have different problems from you, Emre, it might be
significant that someone else is using their name. Which reminds me of
something... tell me, are you the "real" Emre Sozer?

If it is SO important, why don't you just pay for Google AdWords ads and
get exposure that way. There are alternative systems, too: MSN, Yahoo,
adbright etc. You can do that until your organic (free) search catches up.
In the meantime you'll get to use the nice keyword tools all the PPC
(pay-per-click) systems provide to their advertisers and have a pretty
good idea what keywords you need to rank for.

Another site having the same name may effect ranking. A low PR may be
understandable but I don't think Google would ban a site for that.

As for the "real" Emre Sozer, I did not undestand what do you mean by
that but yes

Yes, I absolutely noticed. I check if google indexed my site a couple
of times everyday, only to add to my frustration. I won't be able to
quote exactly but I've read that Google CEO made a statement saying
that they are having a big crisis of space in their servers. Strange
how a huge company like Google fails to plan ahead properly.

Not everyone believes him about that.

Thankyou to everybody. I'm a newbie at this (I'm not sure my website
guy has it right) but yet again, it sounds like alot of people can't
get on. What is upsetting is another site is using our name, they just
have pictures on it. I have changed my front page about 4 times from
people telling me to put "key" words in it but nothing. We have placed
our information with about 10 main search engines. And absolutely
nothing! The other site was last Cached on May 2 and we have way more
stuff on our pages than they do. We also have links. I don't know about
the CEO saying they have a crissis of space, because we were up and
running before other sites came up using our trademarked name. When I
have asked for help, basically Google told me they wont be helping me
anymore. Do you think they are punishing me? Also do the other sites
take their information from Google? Thankyou in advance
