A few days ago I couldn't get to Google. All I got was "The page cannot be displayed". I thought Google was down for a while. But it still won't come in, and on Yahoo, and MSN, I can get to the main page, but when I search for something, I again get "The page cannot be displayed". Does anybody know why searching is suddenly a problem for me, and what can I do to fix it? Thanks. |

I went to symantec.com, ran their on-line check for viruses and trojan horses, and my computer was clean. I also ran an F-Prot antivirus, and again, nothing bad was found. So I deleted my link to www.google.com from my favorites, which is apparently getting redirected to a site which has been shut down. Elsewhere on this newsgroup, I saw that Google can also be accessed at www2.google.com, so I'm using that--it works normally. But I don't know why I'm still having the problem with some search engines when nothing bad has been found on my computer. |
