Default Can I have a professional view of this site please... - 01-07-2005 , 06:34 AM

Hi Group
www.j2lingerie.co.uk

This is my first site i have designed, and i wondered if it looks appealing,
has all the right features, not too long to load and has a good feel about
it...

I have changed it a few times to try and keep visitors in the site rather
than jumping back out

Any recommendations would be very gratefully received

Thanks in advance

Bob McN

I think you need to wrest your domain name away from uk2net as this
seems to be another instance of their url forwarding simply not
working. In my experience the engines will never be able to find your
web site.

with some of the markets biggest names already having stunning websites
youre gonna have to do way better than this just to make a scratch on the
sales.... the designs too dark, not focused towards women, it doesnt sell,
uses nasty frames and has a useless flash banner thingie which annoys the
hell out of me--- make it sell more!

Hi ya

Downside
You *have* to dump the frames. Search engines don't like them, users
don't like them (esp if trying to bookmark a page inside the site) And
webmasters rarely link to them. Which will make it harder for you to
climb the google ladder.

Upside
I didn't take too long to load up using a modem.
I didn't see a flashing banner. Maybe that was removed before I
visited.

It is a little dark I agree with Mark. And you would do better without
frames I agree with both as from the looks you can use a logo at the top and
have the same look really.

If you want to sell to the US which you will be losing a large amount of
people there, hold-ups do you mean our garter belts, and then also use both
tights and panty hose. Using both keyphrases for each will do better.

Your product pages are extremely hard to read! And I didn't see any lingerie
only stocking hose and tights. you are wasting a lot of space in your title
which you could use better for what you have. You can change each product
page's title and have what is listed on the page instead of having the same
things throughout.

I would have looked a little longer to see anything else but the blue and
yellow hurt my eyes.

Huh? Even I link to at least one site with frames :-D

Doubt that too. I am sure you can find sites using frames in the top ten
positions for quite a lot of keywords (and combinations).

BTW: I don't like frames, frames are evil :-D

Ah, but with the navigation and logo frames intact?

Stacey

Firstly, thanks for the comments..
I have started to make some changes to remove the frames, and lighten up a
bit...i agree it does look better

I only really intend to initially sell to UK, but the US eventually so
hold-ups are hold-ups here (also known as stay-ups or zero gravity stockings
!) and the same for tights.. only Uk english wording. But i will ammend the
keyphrases now that i know

Time to adjust the product pages & get more organised, i know !
The 'Lingerie' word is used because of what will be coming up later this
year, which really will be 'Lingerie' !

I thought i had changed the titles for each page but i havejust realised
that that has no effect on frames. DUH !!

Colours seem to be a real pain to me...
I personaly cant stand loads of white, that hurts my eyes !!

Revised temporary home page at

I did a quick homepage without frames (and better colour perhaps!)

www.mosaiclighting.co.uk/j2lingerie/Index.htm

Oh, and by the way... could anyone afford a professional lingerist ??
