(or both, since to me both would be valuable numbers :-) ). |

But anyway, I've seen a steady drop of payout since April/May. At first I thought it was because the summer holidays, but alas. |

Would have been better if they could have included the text as well. |

This change is rather new. Yeah, I considered it very odd, the drop. The number of views was a bit lower, and less clicks, but the payout per click dropped the most. I haven't checked the % of each drop, but from what I've seen the $ was the most. :-( |

Mine dropped in October. Was about 20% down for the month. November is better, but not the big rush in spending like last year. |

I have a blog that traffic has almost totally died out on also. Also for no apparent reason other than it's only loosely connected with the main part of the site. It's not spam, it has no paid links / posts etc. |

(OT)Did you ever answer my question about your camera on your blog comments? I checked back once and you hadn't ![]() |

Anyway, nice to see you back - even if you do never answer your mail (or blog comments) ![]() |

I am quite sure that I emailed you back on the camera question. Will search for the reply. Anyway, to answer your Q: I use the Canon A640 for most of my current photos. http://flickr.com/photos/johnbokma/ has some examples (the older photos, the 4 last butterflies, are made with my Sony DSC-S600). Only downside of the A640 has been so far that yesterday I got my third. The first had a wire (tiny) *behind* the lens. The second one got a dead pixel in the camera sensor. Since the camera doesn't output RAW, this resulted in 30-50 pixels being affected... In the shop they said that they would sent back the camera to Canon to have it fixed (they map out the bad pixel...), which would take 20 days. Since I know that 20 days can mean anything but 20 days, I insisted on getting a new camera (it's crazy to buy a new camera and after 3 months have to leave it behind for 30 days or so). Anyway, yesterday I got my third Canon A640. Never had a problem with my first digital camera, and ditto with the Sony DSC-S600. |

Thanks for the reply. I want to get a new camera and don't want anything overly complicated. |

Did you use any special equipment to take this image? http://flickr.com/photos/johnbokma/2065389242/ Was it just using the camera as is or did you have an additional zoom (I have no idea if you can fit an additional zoom). |
|
It's a pretty amazing pic if you have not enhanced the camera at all. |
|
I don't want to get involved with huge lenses etc, |
I want to point, click, get great results with minimal skill.!![]() |

The Canon A640 is a bit between: you can use the automatic mode(s), or you can use the (semi-)manual modes. I didn't want to buy a dSLR (yet), because I was afraid I would be overwhelmed by all the features (ha ha, said the nerd). And because it's quite some weight to carry around. Did you use any special equipment to take this image? http://flickr.com/photos/johnbokma/2065389242/ Was it just using the camera as is or did you have an additional zoom (I have no idea if you can fit an additional zoom). Nope, it's just the Canon A640 :-) It's a pretty amazing pic if you have not enhanced the camera at all. Thanks. (To be honest, it was a bit of an accident, I was playing with Tv (IIRC) mode and flash, and somehow this one got made. It's a crop, because one part of the photo got too much light, which is just a little visible in this photo) I don't want to get involved with huge lenses etc, I want, but when I have the feeling I am able to get the most out of the A640. I managed (well, IMO) to do that with the Sony DSC-S600 in less than a year, but that one has very limited macro (min distance is 12 cm), and very limited manual settings. I want to point, click, get great results with minimal skill.! ![]() I am afraid that there are some contradictions there :-). Skill can be improved, mostly by doing. But also by reading. I can't recommend 'The Digital Photography book' by Scott Kelby enough. I learned how to take those nice river photos from it ( http://flickr.com/photos/johnbokma/2053643314/ and http://flickr.com/photos/johnbokma/2053643308/ ). |
