Since the 4th I've gone up 188 places for seo seminars and 292 places

Bouncy! Still crazy out there!

Why do you redirect 301 from

http://kruse.co .uk/seo-training.htm

to

http://www.kruse.co .uk//seo-training.htm

?

Perhaps more later, Moto GP race starts in less then a minute

I moved up 2 places for rag rugs.:-) I don't except to move up anymore
though. So not really bouncy on my side. About a week ago I moved up 3 to 4
places for throw rugs.

Not to bouncy really, as Google does update and make changes on a regular
basis now and not once a month. So you can move up and down. And with those
being unstable like that and on the move try adding a few more links and
watch it move up. Also changing your pages somewhat can make a difference
also. I have done it and watched a page go from 30 to 15 to 5 and seen
progress every 2 days.

Congratulations on number 1 for the Rag Rugs SERP Stacey.

Though you are only number 2 for Rag Rug :-)

My two highest traffic sites are getting around 25,000 visitors per
day between them without making a change in months. Interestingly my
Adsense income is down from them because the registrar (Registerfly)
screwed up in February and allowed one to be deleted for a few days
(they let it expire despite I paid years in advance and took days to
get it back) and the other was almost transferred to another owner and
that also took days to get back!!

Registerfly are a bunch of idiots, customer services was a joke for
these problems and I plan to transfer the 50 odd domains I have with
them to another registrar.

Looks like having the sites down for a few days messed the Adsense ads
up (how targeted they are) and so click thrus and actual value per ad
is down! So though traffic is up, revenue is down, easy come easy I go
I suppose :-(

Looks like the ads are beginning to recover at last, so should be a
short term problem.

You see that too, huh? That was my ISP. I did notice it earlier today
and then was promptly overtaken by events, I think sleep in this
instance, as I often am. I'll enquire. They may have misunderstood
what I asked. Didn't we discuss this subject at length some time ago
in these very pages? What was the outcome, anyone remember? The /////
problem, I mean.

Thanks!

I was #3 2nd domain forever. I think a year. I kept working and almost gave
up really as top 5 was good enough. Then boom, I checked and #1. #1 for the
throw rugs also. That seem to be easier than rag rugs, and throw rugs is
more compeitive. I think the rag rugs SERP is highly specialized with the
few rag rugs sites that are out there. Hard to gain with those sites that
have been around before me and have anchor text with rag rugs and such.:-)

Yeah, I want to sell rugs not a rug.:-) Actually now I am not selling
anything. To busy working. I have some new rugs to load up I need a few
more. I also have to make some more sewn items. I have got myself so busy
with those other sites.

Ouch! At least you still are gaining traffic. Maybe adsense is putting in
public service ads. I changed mine to where if it didn't figure it out to
use the add from another page that I knew wasn't showing PS ads. You can
also state to show nothing if it doesn't figure it out.

I haven't had any problems to much really with them.

AFAIR there were no hard conlusions. Repeated slashes are valid in URL.
Apache (and Micro$oft server - IIS is it called, or what?) treats them as
single /, while Google shows (occasionally at least) separately pages for
different number of slashes, treating them as different URLs. These are
facts, I don't remember any conclusions other, that it is best to avoid
such situations. Urls starting with // can be blocked by robots.txt.

Several KWs I am watching moved up 2-3 positions this week (#6 to #4 or
something like that).

As I have not done anything around in last weeks I suppose it is some algo
tweaking.

But I have also other idea - I wonder if it is not delayed effect of links
I have gained around Nov/Dec.

On page optimizations bring effects almost immediately. Is it the same
with links? Link history is a factor IIRC so perhaps just like it takes
several months for a site to move from sandbox, it takes some time for a
link to bring effect?

Can't you configure redirects on your own?

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^kruse\.co\.uk [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*) http://www.kruse.co.uk/$1 [R=301,L]

in .htaccess should do the trick.
