Default Blogger.com Spammer - 03-07-2006 , 08:42 AM

Can anybody figure this one out; Someone has signed up for about 200
blogspot sites from blogger.com and just stuck tons of affiliate type
links at the bottom of all 200 blogspots as image links. there is no
text on any of the blog and no title. The titles all say blogger 404: -
page not found for the title but they are not 404's as there are tons of
affiliate image links at the bottom of the page of all the blogspot
sites. even emailed support (AT) blogger (DOT) com and they have just ignored it.
I guess they pay their employees minimum wage so they don't give a dam
what happens. (only a job mon, only work there). Anyway check it out,
check out any of the blogspots below and see what you all think of it,
good seo or bad seo idea?

Sorry, Ray I am not seeing what you see. These blogs can be own by different
people. Also I am not seeing affliate links other than what blogger puts on
them and they will read 404 when there isn't anything loaded on the blog.
BTW even if they had affilate links on them it would be SEO at all.:-)

That one went right over your head. It almost got me too. It was however,
quite an ingenious scheme.

IME they get around to it eventually. A quick sampling of the sites you
listed are (true) 404s now.

Hey Stacey

"Now you see it, now you don't". The concept is pretty stale here but the
attempt is to get the links spidered and get a link popularity "point" from
each thread that follows it ( unfortunately for the spammer the links are
now snipped ) then fill in the pages with the actual content, in this case
fill in the blog. It a weak technique that is not very effective here but
can be effective used in other Usenet groups to create an ongoing
discussion which continuously includes all these links in the threads.

This technique is similar to ghosting and spoofing.

The poster may argue that these links are not of his interest and that his
providing a hundred examples of one concept is legit. Go check these links
out in the future and you'll see what I mean.

Sorry, Fred that is not what TJ was referring to. :-) The quote mark " was
missing from the 404 page.
