A bit off topic... but PHP Blog software ?

Hi,
Sorry if it's a bit off-topic, but there's a wealth of people here with lots
of knowledge. :-)

I wondered if anyone can recommend some open-source Blog software that uses
php \ mysql which will enable me to create a site similar to blogger.com and
allow people to 'sign up' for accounts on a particular subject (I run a
flying website) ?

I've looked for a blog software review site on google etc.. but am
struggling a bit ?

Any pointers appreciated :-)

I use WordPress happily (see my Web Log if you are curious) and it was
recently crowned 'Web application of 2004'. You needn't look anyhere else
because I have. Get WordPress (get version 1.5 which has just been released
but might still be a beta).

If you want to run more than one blog with a single software
installation, try http://nucleuscms.org/
