Best website developer + SEO

A friend of mine wants to put a simple one page website of his Garage on the
web - you know with contact details and a few pictures to drum up some
business. Who could you recommend toget him a good ranking and ok looking
site and how much would they charge? Thanks all.

Why does he think a website will get him any business?
What is he doing locally to get business? Ads, Billboards, Yellow pages, etc??
A simple website that can be found locally is all he needs. Anyone should be
able to optimize it so he'll show up near the top of a search for his
geographic region or city.
Adwords would probably be worth buying, too.
If he spends for a ranking beyond that, he's wasting his money unless he
specializes in repairing an exotic brand of cars.
He needs a marketing plan, not SEO.

he needs an internet marketing plan. Complete with monthly budgets,
methods, etc. It doesnt quite work as easy as most people think. Getting a
web site is the easy part. The hard part is getting the right type of
people to visit, click through and actually buy something. If I were your
friend, find someone who or they can do--web site design, seo, internet
marketing. typically not one person can do all 3 great. Some can do a good
job on all three but find an internet marketing firm. our firm does it.
