backlink update in progress

There's a backlink update going now. One of my sites gained 44 links (of
course it was more but Google doesn't mention 'em all...).

But another with 2600+ backlinks is now showing 0, for the moment.

Backlinks are different on different datacenters now - wonder when they will
all agree.

How'd y'all do with the update?

gone from 415 to 701 for one site.

I have a hard time believing that this 'update' is something useful.

true: I doubt that Google is adjusted at given intervals. I guess it's a
constant process, but that some public available /direct/[1] information
is only updated at those intervals, for example IBLs, and PageRank.

[1] direct as in: possible ingredient for the weighting done to order
SERPs.

Yeah that's exactly what i'm thinking.
For SEO this has no value. Perhaps it's a small change in the backlink
algoritm.

It's not worth talking about in my eyes. And why not? Who checks his
backlinks with Google? What use has that.
I simply activate my firefox SEO plugin and i see the backlinks on
yahoo and on MSN. That has a bit value. But checking backlinks on
Google?...w!;t.?f#!:?...

I dropped down from around 200 to 16,, WTF,, i added about 50 this
month alone! Is there a way to chack another data center?
