Default Backlink Questions - 02-11-2004 , 11:34 AM

I've seen a lot of people saying that it's important to get backlinks with
good text.

What's the code in html to go about doing this? Do I have to make the
actual link to my site with the keywords I'm trying to get noticed for? I
don't understand why I come up first with '_____garage doors' but not
toronto garage doors.

Also, I have a few sites that have me linked...but when I type in
link:www.atbdoor.com for some reason I only show up 1 backlink...and it's
been like this for a very long time.

Why could this be?

You have 17 backwards links, whilst Googles link:www.atbdoor.com is a good
indication it only looks at pages that have PR4and above. A fairer way to
see all your backward links is using Alltheweb, put
link:http://www.atbdoor.com in the search box. Alltheweb doesn't care what
PR a page has and so sees all.

If you were expecting to see links from other sites, perhaps the links you
are exchanging are from dynamic pages. You may have to be more choosy with
your link partners.

Thanks for the reply Matt. I've been trying so hard to get my PR up. It
was sitting at pr4 at one point but has since dropped to pr3. Since the
google bullshit, I've now lost my main advertising word being 'toronto' in
the phrase. I'm completely lost now and have to unfortunately pay per click
for all the business I get.

looking at your allinurl you have 14 pages right? make each page link to
each other but in the form of keyphrase "anchor text" , the use of "home" is
a wasted opportunity try to get a keyphrase pointing to your homepage,
"toronto garage doors" perhaps. Confine your off site links to one page
(which I think you have done) but try to get links back.

If you want to contact me off line I'll be only to please to exchange a
link.

Or do the same from AltaVista which seems to get updated
faster then others including google and AllTheWeb.
