Anywhere to check availability of a given website's?

I want to find out the web site availability or uptime ratio of, say,
www.example.com, in the past few years, a number like 99.9%. Is there
anywhere on the Internet I can find it? Thanks.

Thanks. I thought about that after I posted the message. Unfortunately
the few sites I'm interested in are too small to be checked by
Netcraft for uptime. But their FAQ says once I query for it, the sites
will be added to their monitoring list. So I'll check back in a few
days (or weeks). In the meantime, I use Alexa.com to check site
traffic. It has data for all the web sites I'm looking at. It's
missing uptime but it kind of meets my need. What I really need is
find a free or cheap web hosting site that had good uptime in the past
few years. If traffic is not too low, the uptime must be good,
although I can't say the opposite when the traffic is very low.

What I ultimately want is to find a stable (very little down time),
cheap or free, web hosting site, to host a couple of web pages not
intended for making money. This message thread is about the first
requirement, little down time. uptime.netcraft.com tracks that for
some big web sites but the ones I looked at are too obscure to be
tracked by them. (Specifically, rootshell.be and freeshell.org are
what I'm evaluating.)
