A few weeks ago I noticed that link:www.majstro.com entered in Google's search engine did not return a single link anymore, though there are hundreds of sites with links to this page. And other search engines do still list them. This week I became evenmore puzzled when every reference to my site had complete disappeared from Google's index. According to "info:www.majstro.com" Google has no information anymore about this site. And when I enter a search query that used to produce a list of references with the index page of my site somewhere on the first or second page of search results, I now only see references to sites with links to my site, but not www.majstro.com itself. Something very strange has happened here! Fortunately only about 1% of visitors used to come to my site through Google. Still, I would very much like to know why a content rich site with several PR 5-pages that has existed for more than three years, would suddenly completly disappear from the index for no obvious reason. I would almost say that I am being penalized for something by Google, except that I cannot imagine what that would be. The site does not use cloaking, hidden text, irrelevant keywords or whatever webmasters may use to mislead search engines, and this has been so since the very beginning. Maybe the authorities of the People's Republic of China have asked Google to block my site for some ideological reason? But seriously folks, what could have happened here? I have of course asked Google, but I do not really expect an answer from them. |

Without looking deeper, which I don't have time for, I personally haven't got any ideas. Sorry. |

Yes, the index page had PR 6 and there were several pages with PR 5. I too have noticed major variations, for instance one day Google says it has about 15 pages indexed of another site of mine (all of them very old versions), the next day the number is about 150 pages. I just checked that one: the number is currently 16 pages. Apparently a case of server synchronization, though this has already been going on for several weeks. And dropping a site with PR 6 and PR 5 pages altogether can of course not be attributed to normal fluctuations. Could it be that Google is losing its edge? |
