Default any good or bad feedback for free hosting - 09-11-2003 , 10:21 PM

www.50megs.com seems like decent offering. not sure how can do it free
except my willingness to have ads show up on my site.

From what is on that site they mention pop-up ads in addition to
banners. This will annoy users.

www.brinkster.com. No ads but they really limit your bandwidth on the free
plan to 500 megs. You can upgrade to 2gb for $3.95/month. I have two sites
hosted with them and have been very satisfied...so far.

www.web1000.com looks intriguing, although I've never used them.

www.Freeservers.com is one to avoid though.

Anyway, I don't think I could live without PHP these days!

Bravenet.com recently sent an email to me about their new free hosting
and promised no pop ups. You might check it.

I would honestly never consider 'free' hosting for any serious
business or site.

Often you get ads, no contract or promises with regard to uptime and
generally a poor service in my opinion. Leave it for the 13yr olds
with wrestling sites :11ztongue:

Get yourself some decent fast hosting with PHP etc and you'll find you
can almost certainly expand and grow with your host over the years
ahead.
