I think once it gets to a certain level rather than getting the job done the main role of the service company is stroking the ego of the ceo of the client company. If the job can be done by an old man in a broom cupboard that's immaterial. What the client wants to see is hordes of the proletariat rushing hither and thither at their bidding, this makes them feel important. They're happy to pay for that whether it gains them financially or not. Making the client feel important is itself the point of the excercise. As a one-man band, therefore, there are avenues of resource that I accept will remain closed to me. |
