Mark,

Also according to Google you need to have a Meta -no index and or
robots.txt
when you want to get a URL out of the index. You have metas to index it.
So,
with links and the index metas the page will be indexed.

Stacey

You want to run that by me again? I see sites that are in competition
and spam-riddled and I want them out of Google. Something I'm missing?
The only one I ever got out was a refresh link to a porn site.

What Mark is talking about is that he has a site that he made with
freeuk.com. He made it a doorway page. When you want a page or content to
be
removed from the index, http://www.google.com/remove.html . They have
guidelines that need to be followed for removal of a page or content. One
of
them is that there needs to be a meta tag for no index for sure and maybe
the robots.txt before submitting the removal tool. You can not take out a
competitors page of course as they have you sign up for a one time
password
and you have to follow through with it with your email, and make sure what
they ask is done to the page. Kind of hard to change the metas of a
competitor.

I guess you had missed a little what Mark had asked and what I was
conveying
to him. :-)

its jelousey, theyre #1 because they use a frame'd site with loads of pseudo
relevant content that no one will ever see and he does loads of spammy link
building from doorway sites that he creates under freebie domain names.

Well, we can all make mistakes now and then huh Bill!:-) Oh well, I have
been half with things lately as I have the big move ahead in 2 months and to
sell a house which isn't ready to sell! I also have to make a trip to KY
next month for a week and then to MA in June maybe for a week. Then have my
stuff all packed up into crates and sent overseas. Yep, nothing to lose your
mind over just a few brain cells that's all!! :-)

In looking at the site above I would have to think that Google must have
tens of thousands of items on their "to do" list that have a higher priority
than this... and thats assuming they would even consider removing that site
from the search results.

Yes it is a "doorway" or "splash" page... but the content is small and to
the point. Its not just ramblings going on and on to stuff keywords like:
"buy silver jewelry or jewellery or jewelery online at our online silver
jewellery store - we have gold, silver, platinum, gems, diamonds, emeralds,
rubies, or whatever you want in the way of rings, necklaces, earrings,
chokers, anklets, toe rings, " etc, etc

Then Google would need something to actually act upon... in looking at their
FAQ at: http://www.google.com/intl/en/webmasters/2.html
it says:

1. Reasons your site may not be included.
You employ doorway pages. Google does not encourage the use of doorway
pages. We want to point users to content pages, not to doorways or splash
screens

thats what it says... it does not say:
1. Reason your site will not be included.
You employ doorway pages. Google does not allow the use of doorway
pages.

With the key phrases there being: "MAY NOT be included" and "DOES NOT
ENCOURAGE the use of doorway page". I read that and it doesn't come across
to me in anything that would give you grounds for asking Google to remove
these guys from the search results.

Then when you consider that their actual website is done up entirely in
flash... all you really have is something that pretty much every flash site
before them has: a splash page to give the search engines content to grab
and index.

I seriously think that no matter how much you complain they will never
remove that site from the search results and you'd be better off spending
your time doing something to improve your own ranking instead.

I agree. People should always bear in mind "intent" before they holler
spam. Where there is no intent to decieve, Google has no apparent
interest in deleting a site. Nor should it have.
