Define advanced. Even the basics are advanced for most people.
Frankly, the basics ought to do the job if you stick to them and
observe them properly. It's not like there's especially hard stuff for
seo, if a site's in a format that can't be properly optimised then it
needs to be complimented by a site that can be. You're asking the
wrong question is what I'm saying, you misunderstand the medium.

Advanced means - for highly technical people. The book must have best
practice examples or patterns and a lot of factual details.

I think i would wait for his 3rd edition though, not that a huge amount
has changed in the basics since 2004. As it is just a PDF he could keep
it more up-to-date.

Aaran Wall's book gets a lot of praise too but I've not read it myself.
Any comments?

I forgot about Aaron. I don't think it has the "hard sums" association
that Mike seems to get. Aaron in general is more user-friendly.
