Default About all metatags for indexing - 06-07-2006 , 02:07 AM

Hi to all
I would know what meta tags are necessary or help positioning on google.
The meta that I normally use are: keywords (but anypeople say that google
don't see it... but MSN yes!), description ad title. Are there some other
metatags that is advisable to use?

the title element is not a metatag (technically it's meta data, but you
don't use the meta element to specify it).

It's the only one I use at the moment.

No idea if keywords really is used by MSN (I doubt it btw), but if someone
can confirm this, let me know.

Description is used by Google for presentation purposes only AFAIK.

Which reads: while description doesn't influence your position in the
search results, it can bring you more traffic if your results are
surrounded by sites with bad/weak/uninformative snippets. And you are
interested not in position (unless that's some kind of competition) but in
traffic. Better position brings more traffic, so these thing are not
separate, just keep correct pesrpective when thinking about.

Borek

Based on your subject line (this drifts elsewhere in the bosy), you may be
looking for something like:

Hope it helps,

I've tried but fot italian addresses don't work. See this at:
http://geourl.org/add/helper (I can see: "Input your address (only works in
the US)")

And, consequently, also ping is off for me.... right?

DC stands for Dublin Core. An initiative to create a standard for meta
information.

You don't need the helper, just use something
like multimap.com or the Italian equivalent,
and then just submit here
http://geourl.org/ping/
Pinging will only work after adding the code to
your source.
