I tried a different menu now. I took the PVII cssexpress dropdown
menu. I did everything according to the tutorial and the page
validates.

Unfortunately the dropdowns are not visible because they disapear
behind the scroller on the page :´-( And the 2. problem is, that the
id #hier1 (to show the visitor on which page he actually is) doesn't
behave as I like. In the CSS I declared _all_ states of #hier1 to have
black color and the font-weight to be bold. What it does: as soon as
you hover over it, the color turns to white but with a bold
font-weight?

Yes, it does. Since I removed the first dropdown menu and replaced it
with the PVII menu:-)

Get rid of the scroller. That's simple. Why have two scrollbars on the
page?

I didn't notice that there are 2 scrollbars. I like the optic of that
scroller because it shows the pic of the cat, the page is about. I
positioned the background image to stay at the top of the scroller.
But actually I had in mind to have people use the footer-buttons
without having to scroll down the page. I'm still playing with the
height of the scroller. There are 11 cats with 1 page for each one
with his own background-pic...

And the 2. problem is, that the

That would only be a problem with your CSS modifications. Post this on the
PVII support forum to get an answer, please.

files). Please move these files out to some other location in your site.
While it may not cause any problems if you are not using Library items
(*.lbi files), it certainly can if you are.

Here it comes:
I changed this:

#hier1 a:link, #hier1 a:visited, #hier1 a:hover, #hier1 a:active {
background-color: #DDE5E7!important;
color: #000000!important;
font-weight: bold;
}

To this.........

li #hier1 a:link, li #hier1 a:visited, li #hier1 a:hover, li #hier1
a:active {
background-color: #DDE5E7!important;
color: #000000!important;
font-weight: bold;
}

This solves the #hier1 issue.

And this: I removed the 'Position:relative' from the #scroller div

which solved the appearance of the dropdownmenu.
