Default Windows diplaying too large - 11-02-2004 , 06:35 PM

:|

I have been using Studio MX for a couple of years now. I recently had to
reinstall due to a hard drive crash (not the first time). The problem is this:

When I open Fireworks of Dreamweaver, it displays way too large and runs off
the page. Therefore, I can't access the tools in the properties window at the
bottom right. I think when this occured before, I reinstalled and it corrected
the problem. That's not helping this time.

My 20" monitor is set to 800 x 600 as usual. It has that funky, large,
distorted look. To see an example: www.trinitydfw.com/display.htm

Thanks!

Aybody have any idea how to fix this?

The minimum resolution we support for both Fireworks and Dreamweaver is:
1024 x 768.

Change your resolution to as big as your card can allow.

Open DW.

Adjust the page size to something you guess will fit on your 800x600 (why so
small - at this size your PI will be truncated).

Reset your resolution. Close and restart DW. Fixed?

What do you mean by:

The recommended screen resolution for DW is 1024x768. Anything smaller than
this will result in a lateral truncation of the Property inspector at the
bottom of the document window.

Actually, this is not the answer after all. When I set the resolution to 1024
x 768. Web pages display with the extra space to the right and not in the full
window.

As I said before, I have used Macromedia for nearly 3 years MX for the last
year and a half or more, and always used 800 x 600 resolution. Everything
worked fine until the operating system reinstall. There must be another
solution.
