Default Why the black frames on ie for Mac???? - 11-16-2004 , 04:46 AM

Hi there......

I hope that someone can please help me on a matter of some urgency.

After searching the forum, I can find NO OTHER question relating to this
problem, so guess that I have overlooked something obvious.

The problem arises in a client browser on their Mac. Safari seems to be ok,
but ie is causing problems. Black lines are appearing around table rows and
columns. Do any of you know what I'm doing wrong? I would really appreciate
ANY light that you might be able to shed on this for me.

The page (no links working on it until I can get this page right...) can be
found at: http://www.globalservices.co.uk/LR_websafari.pdf

Once again, thanks in advance for any help.

Kindest regards

Rob

Hi Rob,

Can't tell much from the PDF. We'll need to see the source for the page.
Do you have a URL of an HTML page we can look at?

Best regards,
Chris

Have you explicitly set borders = "0" in the table tag?

Hi

I have the border set as '1' because I need the dark line encompassing the page. Have I done it wrong?

Thanks

Rob

Hi Rob,

Instead of defining the border in the <table> tag, you might consider doing
this in your style sheet instead. Give your table an ID, or apply a custom
class to this table only, with the border attribute set to the width and
colors you'd like to apply. That way it will only be applied to the table
as a whole, and not the cells within it.

Best regards,
Chris

<table width="702" height="487" border="1"You are telling it to outline
table and cells with this parameter. Read Chris's reply."Rob4444"

Hi Chris

Thanks for the help. I'll give it a go as soon as I get beck to my computer
(HDD failure). It sounds like the way to go. Fingers crossed.....I'll let you
know.

Thanks again. Really appreciate your input.

Kind regards

Rob
