Default Where have these lines come from?? - 11-11-2004 , 09:35 AM

My website has been down for a few days due to technical problems.

It is now back up but the text on the lower half of the website homepage
(there is only one page to my website at present) is underlined in fine black.

I have tried taking the text out and retyping it and uploading it - nothing
changes.
I have checked that the style is not 'underlined' in Dreamweaver. Can anyone
help me?

The website is: http://www.poohsstoreandmore.co.uk

many thanks

Jane

Jane1970,

Look for the <u> tag shortly before your image. You may have to flip to
Code view to see it. Normally, the <u> tag (for underline) is supposed to
have a matching pair, the </u> closing tag, which I don't see in your code.
In any case, use delete the tag <u> and those underlines will go away.

?

The only text that I see underlined is at the top:

<u>Under Construction - About Us</u>
<u><strong>Visit our Ebay shop</strong></u>

You could also try this...

click to Modify page.... select links and click the NEVER UNDERLINE
box... that removes the underline from your links.

Here is where the <u> tag is located: <p align='center'><u><span
style=''><o> <div align='center'><img
src='/Images/Large%20Images/Xmas%202004/Xmas_alldangles_2004.jpg' width='719'
height='411'> </div>

while you're at it you might want to compress the image a wee tad, 596.54 KB
(610858 bytes) is slightly excessive!

the actual image you have posted is;

1191x605x375dpi

it is displaying at;

719x411

reducing the actual image size to 719x365x96 and then using web compression
gets you an image weighing only 48k!

This is without any significant loss of quality. Dial up users will become
your friend again and broadband users won't think their speed has dropped.
