WHERE IS THE DUMP?

MX 2004 disappears (crashes, terminates, goes to LaLa Land) when I do
certain things. Is there a log or dump I can look at?

FWIW, you can probably make it do the same thing using Search & Replace on a
folder. Select some source code, take the S&R dialog, and just hit Enter.
Don't type anyting into the Find (it will be filled with your selection) and
don't type anything into the Replace. MX 2004 will just vanish!
