Hi,
Where do you get the information that goes on the disclaimer on a
website? Sometimes at the bottom where it says conditions for use or
something like that. Do you the professonal website creator put that
on, does a person seek the help of an attorney, is that kind information
generic and you just kind of word it go with the particular site you are
on or ......?
I would sure appreciate some assistance in this area or if someone could
point me in the right direction.
Thank you for helping someone who is very, very, very, new to all of
this.
Craig

This is a personal preference decision. Find a disclaimer on the web that
covers your issues, rewrite it in your own words, add whatever else you deem
necessary, balance firmness with hospitality, and post.

To state your copyright ownership, Library of Congress requires the copyright
owner's name, copyright symbol or word "copyright", and year, and you are
covered.

There are many superb sites on the web explaining copyright. For a quick and
easy overview, go to http://www.templetons.com/brad/copymyths.html

Do you really think a visitor will read such stuff?

I consider "terms of use" on websites ridiculous. If someone doesn't
want his sites used the usual "WWW-way", he shouldn't release them.

Anything else (copyright etc.) is protected by law, it may depend on
local law if some things have to be stated explicitly. Here in Germany
we have to publish at least name and address of the website's owner (or
another person's who's responsible for the content) and a way to contact
him (phone or e-mail). That's it (in most cases).

All IMHO and IANAL.

Micha
