When are we getting MySQL to work?

The tech note says to check this and that, all of which I have done repeatedly, and I still can't get a connection to work. I can connect from the same machine using PHPMyAdmin and Navicat using the same login name and password. When are we getting an updater for the PERFORMANCE and bugs problems? I mean it's been months since the product release. Are they waiting til Dreamweaver MX 2006?
