Default What I see is DW is different than F12 - 11-09-2004 , 12:28 AM

I have been having trouble with this one website for over a year now, and I
don't understand why the same problem keeps occuring. Everytime I re-make the
site to try to fix the situation the same problem comes back. There is always a
column at the right side of the page that keeps 'coming back' when i resize the
height of the surrounding tables. If you check out the site (link below), on
the right side the blue column doesn't go all they way down, because when i
adjust it to do so in DW, that column is created on the left, creating a tall
skinny white line, while my background is grey. Another seriously frustrating
thing, is that I will get it to look exactly how I want it, then preview it in
IE explorer, the damn thing looks nothing like it does in dreamweaver ... this
is when viewing it off my harddrive. Is there some feature with tables that
makes it resize and change automatically ... I just want the tables to stay put
and not move around when adding and destroying other tables. WINDOWS XP ::
MX2004 http://www.clovisusd.k12.ca.us/cehs/wolftone/index.htm THANK YOU FOR
YOUR HELP!

Instead of trying to make that right-hand table pixel perfect and applying
colour to the cell background, do the following. The table is nested inside a
table cell. Give that underlying cell the blue background and let that shine
through. Then you can delete the cell with the height=327px altogether.

<!--DWLayoutTable-->

Ack! That's where youre going wrong, using layout mode. It creates, to
put it bluntly, shit awful code.

Any adjustments that you try and make can have a knock-on effect
creating havoc in other areas of your design.

Get out of the habit of using layout mode. Use standard mode and learn
to build the page correctly. Then you wont have the problem you have and
wont be so frustrated.

I dont think that would work because the pixel wide column is the entire height
of the page, and there is only portion that is blue, so then there would just
be a blue line.<br><br> My main concern is that it looks perfect in
dreamweaver, but when i preview it in ie explorer it looks nothing like it does
in dreamweaver.... why is it getting my hopes up, then crushing them!? lol
Thanks for your help
