But on a cemetary lawn....
Well, I guess it depends on who's cemetary we're talking about.

The background is still a bit overpowering for me. Also, the menu feels
funny.
With it being flush with the top, but everything else starting a ways
down,
plus the fact that it feels like it's a border element and the rest of the
page
is borderless, I don't know. I'm not making any sense except to myself.

But the menu feels funny, like it doesn't belong. Kind of like a plastic
pink
flamingo in a cemetary lawn.

I'm adding the smell of chicken frying in the pan, and the sound of a rocker
on the front porch.... 8)

You're welcome.

As a matter of fact, throughout the years I have bumped into this on
several occasions: when "too" designed material have created a
"suspicion" in the target audience, and when the design had been re-done
to become more "amateurish" (pardon the expression), they have downright
embraced it.

All you need to add now to give the site the little extra feeling of
"hominess" is an animated gif saying "Mail us". <joke

because html stacks up everything to the top left of the window, and
cuts out the right if it's too wide for the browser window. So you could
not align anything to the right of the browser window, while you can
align anything to the left.
<div id="menu" position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; etc

I'll give you a tip son. When you don't know how to do something, don't say
it can't be done
