Default Weird characters suddenly pop up in DW - 07-24-2003 , 02:57 AM

Hi, first time on the Dreamweaver Forum. I have been posting mostly on
the Fireworks Forum.

My question is as follows: I am designing a site and suddenly weird
characters are popping up on my screen. To demonstrate what I mean i
have created a screencap. This can be viewed at the referring URL below.

What is happening here? The characters are appearing in both the DW
environment aswell as in my browser. When I delete them in DW they are
still present in my browser (IE6 SP1). Vice versa also happens; I see
them in DW but not in IE.
Does anyone know what is going on?

The URL for the screenshot: http://www.wetworks.nl/forum/charcap.gif

Thanks in advance guys!

just takes too much time and it doesn't help the rest of the world.

Thank you.

A screen shot only proves that what you describe is in fact happening. Only
a URL to the problem page will provide the answer.

I suspect that you have pressed some keystrokes that have inserted
non-printing characters in your source which the browser and DW are
displaying as best they can. BBEdit on the Macintosh has a "Zap gremlins"
feature which gets rid of these. Since you are in Windows that doesn't help
you, but perhaps there is a similar program in Windows to do this.
